Torre Abbey Sands at High Tide
Torre Abbey Sands at High Tide
During the summer months this beach is a popular spot for sunbathers but during the winter months the seafront takes on a different appearance with waves crashing over the sea wall on to Torbay Road at high tide.
The cliff face in the distance, called Rock Walk, was the subject of a radical change during 2008 with the removal of all the trees and bushes causing half of the seafront dual carriageway to remain closed most of the year.
It is hoped that work on the stabilisation of the cliff face would be finished in May/June 2009 and the replanting would start after that.
