Huddersfield to Manchester Railway
Huddersfield to Manchester Railway
This is a section of the main Huddersfield to Manchester railway line
looking north as it passes through Uppermill in Saddleworth.
Just beyond the green light in the distance the line curves to the
right where it crosses over SD9906 : Uppermill Viaduct

The line, which opened in 1848, is today the route of the TransPennine Express which is one of the few train operating companies in the United Kingdom running 24 hours a day including through New Years Eve night. LinkExternal link
