The square is mainly the coniferous woodland seen in the background. The map marks Fulachtaí Fia in this area. A Fulacht fiadh (plural fulachtaí fia) is to Ireland what would be called a burnt mound in England, Scotland or Wales. They are outdoor cooking areas, often seen as a mound with a shallow pit at the centre, and probably Bronze Age in origin. Whether we can actually see any here is a moot point.
