"Sunshine House", Whitehead
On the coastal path from Whitehead to the Black Head lighthouse J4892 : Whitehead to Blackhead (8), Sunshine House opened in 1901 as a temperance hotel and tearoom. A contemporary source describes it as “surrounded by a charming amphitheatre of bold headlands which form a shelter”. An old photograph shows the first floor in the mock Tudor style. See also J4893 : "Sunshine House", Whitehead (2).
The Blackhead Path, Whitehead

A path running from The Banks at Whitehead, along the shore, to the Blackhead Lighthouse (with a parallel path running inland along the cliff and higher ground). It is possible to walk back to Whitehead from the lighthouse, on a surfaced path, via Muldersleigh Hill, McCrea’s Brae and the Islandmagee Road. Steep in places and not suitable for wheelchairs.
