Scott & Hodgson inverted vertical cross compound steam engine at Waterloo Mills, Silsden. 500 horsepower with a Corliss valve high pressure cylinder and a piston valve low pressure cylinder. The drive was by ropes. The engine replaced an earlier beam engine and was in a new stone built engine house.
