Glen Cottage, Ballynasaggart
Viewed from Ballynasaggart Road in the townland of Glenchuil, across the stream H6058 : Ballynasaggart Road, Glenchuil
I have superimposed the plaque into the frame, The letters are "RN" and the date is 1862. I am informed that this cottage was put together whilst the larger building called Glen Royal was being built.
People in those days mustn't have been very big, going by the heights of the doors.
The RN stands for ROBERT JOHN NEELY who was one of the Neelys / Neills who are buried here and there may be a connection to last king Hugh O Niall, a Scottish clan going back as far as the 10th century Link
