Gelston's Corner, Belfast
Gelston’s Corner, Strandtown, at the corner of the Holywood Road (left) and the Belmont Road. It might take its name from a gentleman by the name of Hugh Gelston who was a grocer, spirit and provision dealer locally in the late 19th century. Any further information welcomed.
The Belmont Road, Belfast
The Belmont Road runs from the Holywood Road, at Gelston’s Corner, through suburban east Belfast, to Craigantlet hill just outside the built-up area. The townlands seem to be Strandtown, Knocknagoney Ballymiscaw and Killeen.
