After a week of heavy snow over the Pennines the A672 between Denshaw and the M62 motorway was closed for several days due to six foot snow drifts blocking the road at this point.
This picture was taken the morning the road was reopened to four-wheel drive vehicles only after snow blowers had cut a path through the deep snow.
