SE0614 : Tiding Field House, Wilberlee The accident happened on Saturday the 10th of June 1905 and involved Joseph Crowther one of the leading figures in the Textile Manufacturing Business after performing a Foundation Stone Laying ceremony at Marsden Liberal Club he and three friends set off on a tour of the surrounding area in Josephs chauffuer driven Napier car making their way down from Pole Moor to Slaithwaite it becomes very steep and unfortunatly the brakes on the car failed crashing into the wall right of the house throwing Joseph out into the road leaving him unconcious his friends who where still in the car and not badly hurt attended to Joseph and managed to get him down to his brother Williams house Field House in Crimble but Joseph died he was 62 there is a photo of the accident in Kirklees Online Images.
