H0673 : Path to Dahbeoc's Chair

taken 14 years ago, 3 km from Ballymacavany, Co Donegal, Ireland

Path to Dahbeoc's Chair
Path to Dahbeoc's Chair
Leads to an ancient site known as St. Dahbeoc's Chair, a collection of natural stones with one or two added, which hints that it may have been a Bronze Age burial site.
Dabheoc was a local hermit, seemingly the original Christian connected with Loch Dearg, as there is no evidence to support the fact that St Patrick even visited this location it is likely that his association was a much later invention.
Unfortunately I have no photo of the 'chair' itself being unsure of its exact location. But more worryingly, the forestry board seems to have planted these pines directly ON TOP of the 'chair'! Photographer's investigation impending.
