Dornoch children and waves
Dornoch children and waves
I do not like taking pictures of other people, but on this occasion and as coastguard, rescue were watching them carefully, on a storm raged beach swell children trying to "drown" themselves in waves off rocks that can cut and cause severe leg injuries and broken arms seems a worthwhile warning. The offshore sides were a straight drop to the scoured sand beach, they were having a lot of fun, but it was cool late September and the backwash, rip current, wave recession very high in discharge. I doubt rescue could have reached them if they had gone in at depth against the rocks and they did launch as we left as a practice. And to mention the health of the estuarine lochs from Dornoch around to Tarbat Ness as viewed collected wastes during storm wave concentrations.
