Two, of four, pineapple-topped urns on the western side of the College. Pineapples appear on railings J3374 : College Square North, Belfast (5) and gate pillars. There might be some special significance or they might just be an attractive feature.
The Union Theological College, Belfast

The Union Theological College, Botanic Avenue, Belfast was built in 1852-53 to a design by Charles Lanyon. The material is Scrabo freestone. The college trains for the ordained ministry of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. It also offers further training for existing clergy.
