C0635 : Rough roadside verge at Cloonmass

taken 13 years ago, near to Portnablahy, Co Donegal, Ireland

Rough roadside verge at Cloonmass
Rough roadside verge at Cloonmass
This is a good example of preserving a somewhat natural area along the road, with an outcome of certain habitat provision. This is ecologically a far superior alternative to repeated mowing of verges; the biological benefits are further enhanced by the parallel drainage ditch. Photographer is standing at the rough verge edge.
