V9790 : Train at Killarney Station

near to Cill Airne and Coolcorcoran Bridge, Kerry, Ireland

Train at Killarney Station
Train at Killarney Station
A 22000 class diesel multiple unit arrives at Platform 1, bound for Tralee.
Killarney Station
Killarney Station was opened in 1853 as the terminus of a line from Mallow. When the line was extended to Tralee, the extension branched off, about 300m east of the station.
Hence, trains to and from Tralee have to reverse out or into the station, before continuing their journey.
This process adds a few minutes to journey times.
