The Mincarlo is a historic trawler and fishing vessel built in Lowestoft.
She was built in the Brooke Marine yards in Lowestoft in 1961. Each of the vessels (of 3) cost £75,600. Mincarlo was the last vessel to be built in Lowestoft and have a Lowestoft engine installed. The type of trawler known as a sidewinder or side trawler; mainly catching cod, haddock, plaice, skate and sole. In the 1970s she was bought and converted for use on the oil/gas fields. After being replaced by a purpose built vessel the Mincarlo was purchased for £1 and started life in preservation. She is now open during the week in summer at heritage quay in Lowestoft. Link
