Gamble Street, Belfast (1990)
A street running from Corporation Street to Donegall Quay (middle background), built in the early part of the 19th century. Close to the harbour, it was associated with the hospitality (bars and accommodation) trade for much of its early existence. Everything in this photograph (including the coal and scrap yards on Queen’s Quay (far background) was cleared to make way for the M3 J3474 : The Lagan Bridge, Belfast and the railway to Yorkgate J3474 : Elevated railway and road, Belfast. The Design Centre J3474 : No 39 Corporation Street, Belfast site is behind the blue fence (lower right). J3474 : Gamble Street, Belfast (2011-1) shows a similar view in 2011.
