St. Fin Barre's Cathedral - east end, Cork
The cathedral is at least the third on the site, which previously had churches and before that there was a monastery here. In fact the site has been used for Christian worship continuously since the 7th century. The present cathedral dates from the 1860's and was consecrated in 1870. It is a Church of Ireland (Anglican) cathedral, and named after the patron saint of Cork. The photograph was taken from just within the gates of the cathedral grounds.
