Riverstick's memorial monument
Riverstick's memorial monument
Riverstick is named quite literally after the River Stick which can be seen in the picture and which flows through the village.

This memorial is to remember local soldier Dinny Barry, a member of the Irish Republican Army and founding member of Sinn Fein. Not convicted of any crime, he died on hunger strike in Newbridge Camp, 20th November 1923. It also remembers the Irish Volunteers who died on hunger strike in the nearby Curragh internment camp.
