W6557 : Riverstick in flash flood

taken 12 years ago, near to Riverstick, Co Cork, Ireland

Riverstick in flash flood
Riverstick in flash flood
The water levels in this normally babbling brook rose sharply from around 5am to peak at about this level at 6:30am, when this picture was taken. At one stage the main Kinsale Road north of here was below water but this had subcided by 9:30am.

The Babbling Brook pub (the pink pub in the distance) was flooded, but the nearby housing narrowly avoided the water.

You can compare normal water level with W6557 : Pink pub and the Belgooly River
