Former railway station at Pomeroy
Former railway station at Pomeroy
Pomeroy station, between Dungannon and Omagh, on the GNR(I) “Derry Road” from Portadown Jct to Londonderry (Foyle Road). It opened in 1861 and closed, with the line, in 1965. This view, towards Omagh, shows the remains of the station nine years after closure. The platform (middle) was intact. The station building (modified) was still standing and the course of the line as it headed towards Carrickmore, was well defined.
