The Deerpark Bridge, Antrim

A six-arch stone bridge, carrying what was originally a private road, in the Masserene estate, across the Sixmilewater. The date of building is unknown but it might be a contemporary of the Masserene Bridge (1708) in the centre of Antrim town J1486 : Bridge plaque, Antrim (2) and J1486 : Bridges, Antrim town (3). Antrim Castle and grounds

Antrim Castle was built circa 1613 for the first Lord Masserene and rebuilt in 1633. The extensive grounds (now a public park) include the ruins of the castle (destroyed by fire in 1922) and Clotworthy House, built about 1840 as stables. Clotworthy House and the Castle grounds are now owned by Antrim Borough Council and are open to the public. More information available on this Wiki Link

The Sixmilewater, Co Antrim

The Sixmilewater is longer than the name suggests – approximately 20 miles in total. It rises to the north of Carrickfergus and flows by way of Ballyclare, Dunadry and Antrim town into Lough Neagh.
