Wall, Castle Gardens, Antrim (2)
The motte and its spiral path have been restored. The top of the motte is an excellent viewpoint (including for this wall J1486 : Wall, Castle Gardens, Antrim (1)).
Antrim Castle and grounds
Antrim Castle was built circa 1613 for the first Lord Masserene and rebuilt in 1633. The extensive grounds (now a public park) include the ruins of the castle (destroyed by fire in 1922) and Clotworthy House, built about 1840 as stables. Clotworthy House and the Castle grounds are now owned by Antrim Borough Council and are open to the public. More information available on this Wiki Link![]()
