Shutter graffiti, Belfast
Graffiti on a shutter in North Street. The bit under the beak reads “North Street will rise again” – an optimistic statement.
Decorated shutter doors, Belfast
A series of photographs illustrating the decorated security shutters on shops and similar premises in Belfast.
The Royal Exchange site, Belfast
A major mixed-use scheme proposed for the most neglected part of central Belfast. Based on my interpretation of the “artist’s impression” it will cover part of lower Donegall Street, lower North Street, Garfield Street and Royal Avenue. Much of the area, near St Anne’s cathedral and the MAC site J3374 : The "MAC" site, Belfast (1) is just outside the main shopping and office area and had become semi-derelict. If the scheme proceeds it will unite the existing commercial area and the “Cathedral Quarter”. It (Z/2010/1532/F) received approval on 5 September 2012.
