SP5106 : Brasenose Lane Oxford

taken 12 years ago, near to Oxford, Oxfordshire, England

Brasenose Lane Oxford
Brasenose Lane Oxford
Brasenose Lane is accessible only to pedestrians at this end, but vehicles can enter from the Radcliffe Square end.

The lane has high stone-faced college buildings on each side, and is flanked by three historic Oxford colleges: Brasenose College which lies immediately to the south and which the street is named after, Exeter College and Lincoln College.

The buildings surrounding the lane date from the 15th century and the lane is the last in Oxford to retain the medieval pattern of a single drainage channel in its centre.
