A day to remember
A day to remember
L.M.S Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No 45699 Galatea on a lightly loaded test run on the line between Hellifield and Clitheroe. It was a day to live in the memory because the locomotive was in such a state when rescued from a scrap yard in Barry that the general opinion was that it was beyond restoration. It was bought for spare parts for its classmate Leander, but after many years of effort it once again is running on the country's rail network.
