Breakwater, Inishmaan
The new harbour on the north coast of Inishmaan is protected by breakwaters composed of Xblocs, shaped concrete blocks which lock together and absorb a high proportion of wave power. The breakwater is not continuous - the south end of the harbour is closed by a tidal reef (seen to the left).

On the skyline is the ancient ringfort of Dún Chonchubhúir L9305 with the village this side of it.
