The Shack, Mottistone Manor Gardens
The Shack was designed in the 1930's by the architects John Seely (2nd Lord Mottistone) and Paul Paget as their country office and rural retreat. It was originally sited at Freshwater, it was then moved to The Old Parsonage, Mottistone and finally to its current position in the gardens of Mottistone Manor. It is built like a two berth boat and had all mod cons 1930's style. In 2009 the National Trust began a program to restore the Shack and have filled it with items from the 1930's.
