Looking north-west across the busy grid square, from an attic window of the adjacent Midland Grand Hotel at St. Pancras TQ3082, we see this square's most prominent feature, Cubitt's 1852 frontage for the Great Northern Railway at King's Cross. Redevelopment should soon see the plain flat-roofed buildings in front (bottom right) knocked down, revealing the full height of the frontage for the first time in 100 years.
TQ3083 : King's Cross station An interesting picture from an interesting vantage point. You weren't there by accident as I believe there's been no unofficial access for many, many years. The foreground detailing is excellent.
