Maple Brook Pumping station - lighting set
This former steam powered water works pumping station has preserved this inverted vertical duplex (high-speed) enclosed engine by Bumsted & Chandler of Hednesford. This was built in 1924 as No. 2081 and was on standby until 1972. It was rated at 8 bhp at 750 rpm and drove a dynamo for the station's lights. The station originally had two large pumping engines and one survives.
