Steam engine - Indian & Primrose Mill, Church
Steam engine - Indian & Primrose Mill, Church
A classic gear drive cross compound engine built in 1884 by Ashton Frost of Blackburn. It ran until 1981 and was removed 1984/5 to store in the open near Haworth Art Gallery. It has now been almost completely scrapped. The mill has been demolished. All that survives is now on display in Accrington - SD7528 : Ashton Frost Wheel - a sad end to a once fine engine.
