Bradford Industrial Museum - boiler feed pump
A J P Hall of Peterborough inverted vertical single cylinder non-rotative pump. Used in the corporation baths at Burton-upon-Trent and presumably acquired with other engines from Clay Mills Pumping Station (now preserved as Claymills Victorian Pumping Station). The steam cylinder is 6.5" bore by 10" stroke and the water cylinder is 4.5". The steam cylinder is larger to give a mechanical advantage over the pump for pumping into the boiler that is producing steam at the same pressure as used in the steam cylinder. This is a smaller version of the pump that is still used on steaming days at Claymills.
