A little background history transcribed from an information in the carpark off Farnborough Road.
The park, together with the housing areas the Empress Estate and Queen Victoria Court, once formed part of the parkland associated with Farnborough Hill. However, by the time that Empress Eugenie came to Farnborough Hill, the land had been separated off. This then came under the ownership of the inhabitant of 'The Pavilion', the white lodge building in the middle of Queen Victoria Court. The land for Queen Elizabeth Park was sold to the then Farnborough District Council in 1951 by the Teal family who owned The Pavilion at the time.
