The Celtic cross, adorned with pikes on top of the monument in the centre of Oulart village was destroyed a few years ago when some Christmas decorations that were tied to its tip were snagged by a passing van and it came crashing to the ground being smashed beyond repair.

Earlier this year, after some fund raising, a new stone replacement was commissioned and the replacement put in place.
