The preserved head of St Oliver Plunkett, Archbishop of Armagh, forms the centrepiece of a shrine to him in the church. Hanged, drawn and quartered at Tyburn on 1 July 1681 for High Treason, he was canonised by Pope Paul VI in 1975.
