RSPB hide, Belfast harbour - October 2016(1)

Part of the well-sheltered RSPB hide with a view over the harbour lagoons and the Victoria Channel. You won’t see the Hanging Gardens of Babylon or herds of wildebeest or even Krakatoa erupting but given the right time of year and an incoming tide you can expect gulls, waders and geese. Unlike an edited television programme it doesn’t all happen in a few minutes. Patience and frequent visits are needed. See also J3777 : RSPB hide, Belfast harbour - October 2016(2).

Window on Wildlife (WoW), Belfast harbour

An area, managed by the RSPB, overlooking the harbour lagoons and the Victoria Channel. There is an admission charge to the visitor centre which includes the use of scopes. The hides are free as is parking beside Airport Road West. The facilities are open to all – no RSPB membership needed. I have no connection the society.
