Loopholed wall: DoB ID: S0007888

The long wall on the west side of the former Royal Marines barracks at Eastney has at least 50 loopholed embrasures along its length. If all were manned, one can imagine the quite devastating amount of small-arms fire that could be brought to bear on any attack on this side.
