An Abandoned "Beetle"
An Abandoned "Beetle"
The object in the foreground is a "Beetle" left over from the testing of the Mulberry Harbour in World War II. The Mulberry Harbour played an important role in the D-Day landings off Normandy, the prototypes were constructed in Conwy Bay and floated to Garlieston for trials ( LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) ). Garlieston Harbour wall can be seen behind.
