The Michael Tippett Centre
Bath Spa University's concert hall, named after the composer Sir Michael Tippett. From the University website
Link 'Based on the design of Snape Maltings, the venue was opened by Sir Michael Tippett himself – a local resident and former external examiner for BSU’s music department.' It is also Bath's only purpose-built concert hall. Other venues used for concerts in the city are churches, the Guildhall, the Assembly Rooms, the Masonic Hall (formerly the original Theatre Royal) and the Forum (a converted cinema). Various proposals have been made since the mid-19th century to build a concert hall in central Bath, but all have come to nothing.
