Each summer a pavilion is commissioned from an architect with no previous work in the country, this year Francis Kéré from Burkina Faso. It is inspired by the tree that acts as a central meeting point in his home village of Gando. A central metal rod structure supports a roof which funnels rain down to a central large hole over a permeable floor of loose stones. There is a ring of free-standing blue walls with seating both sides. Inside is a coffee bar, outside there is a wooden children's slide.
