Redundant lighthouse at Mornington, Co. Meath
The Drogheda East Lighthouse, one of three redundant lighthouses in The Burrows at the mouth of the R. Boyne. This one now painted black; the other two still white. The Burrows, or sand dunes, appear as 'Rabet Boroughs' on an 18th century map of the estuary. Across the river is Baltray strand with Clogherhead and the Cooley and Mourne Mts beyond.
