C4059 : Ballyhillin

taken 7 years ago, 3 km from Ballygorman, Co Donegal, Ireland

Ballyhillin
Ballyhillin
Just inland from Malin Head, Ballyhillin is the northernmost settlement in Ireland. The hamlet is notable for its cluster of picturesque (eg C4059 : Cottage at Ballyhillin), and some not-so picturesque cottages. Note that there are few openings (windows/doors etc) on the side facing the roadway; this is facing north and when built, the cottages were designed for warmth, not the view!
