Dinas Dinlle
Dinas Dinlle is a small linear settlement behind a shingle bank at the northern end of Llyn. In some ways it resembles Borth on the coast of Ceredigion, and like the latter settlement there are problems here with coastal erosion. Erosion has taken a chunk out of the defences of the Iron Age fort on the hill beyond the houses. Local information states that the fort occupies a glacial drumlin, but I note that fellow contributor Jonathan Wilkins, who probably knows more than me, suggests that it is part of a moraine.
