Signs of the 1987 Storm at Emmetts Garden
Emmetts is an Edwardian estate which was once owned by Frederic Lubbock. The garden was laid out in the late 19th century and contains many exotic and rare trees and shrubs from across the world.

It is on the crest of the Greensand Ridge and was one of the gardens most affected by the Great Storm of 16th October 1987, losing 95% of its mature trees - see LinkExternal link Everywhere within the woods are the signs of that fateful night as here in Scords Wood.
