Ships off Bangor
Ships off Bangor
Two ships sheltering off Bangor from the effects of storm Ophelia - the 'Sea Harmony' J3576 : The 'Sea Harmony' at Belfast and the 'Verity' LinkExternal link . After a very quiet morning wind speed increased rapidly around 3pm gusting to gale force from a south/south-easterly direction; Bangor Bay gives sheltering ships a good deal of protection from the land when the wind is from this direction, problems occur when the wind veers round from a northerly direction.
