Gogo Water and The Makdougall Brisbane Bridge - Largs
Gogo Water and The Makdougall Brisbane Bridge - Largs
The Makdougall Brisbane Bridge dedicated to the memory Sir Thomas Makdougall Brisbane of Brisbane and Makerstoun, Baronet. CCB. Obit 1860'.

The original bridge over Gogo Water was seriously damaged following a series of floods that occurred in the area. The local council maintained the bridge for many years afterwards, always managing to carry out repair work. That is until the 20th of August 1910, when the weakened bridge was washed away by a severe flood. In March of the following year a new, especially strengthened, bridge was built in place of the old one.
It was dedicated to the memory of Sir Thomas Makdougall Brisbane.
