A stone on the front facade reads 'Kilberry National School / Erected 1856 / M. Kelsh P.P.'. Rev Matthew Kelsh was also responsible for building the nearby church in 1839 N8673 : St. John the Baptist's Church, Kilberry. In the 1980s the building was restored under an employment scheme and it was used for meetings for a number of years but had fallen derelict again by the time this photo was taken. Demolished in 2010 or early 2011. Was the date stone saved?
