TQ3266 : West Croydon station (2)

taken 39 years ago, near to Croydon, England

West Croydon station (2)
West Croydon station (2)
This view looking towards London shows the awkward layout of this station. The nearest train is at the Down platform. In the foreground is the short bay platform then used for the 2-car trains to Wimbledon via Mitcham Junction. (This bay is no longer required in 2007 and the track has been removed from it.)
This station is in need of a complete rebuilding with the entrance re-sited on Station Road so as to much improve the interchange with buses and trams.
