Northall Cemetery
This old cemetery has some history attached to it.
Northall Cemetery :: NO2902

This cemetery was opened in 1853 and was in use for less than 50 years (until St Drostans Cemetery was opened in 1900). Northall Cemetery is dominated by a central hillock (which may be an ancient burial mound) with graves both on the hill and at lower elevations within the cemetery on both sides of the access track. Its location is believed to be the 'Dalginch' mentioned in ancient documents. Dalginch was a 'Moot Hill' - a place where legal disputes were settled, proclamations were read and judgements were passed.
