Oitir at Otter Ferry
Oitir at Otter Ferry
Oitir is the Gaelic name for a spit or sandbar. The one shown here is just under a mile long and gave Otter Ferry its name, as a ferry service to used to operate from here to the west side of Loch Fyne in days gone by. The service later moved to the pier near the centre of the hamlet, but has since been discontinued.
