A wet day in the Bullring, Birmingham
Works at the base of the Rotunda reveal something of the engineering that made the Bullring shopping centre possible. The arched truss, left, and its three companions are supported on columns sited between the railway tunnels east of New Street station. Above the tunnels and from these arches is suspended a deck. It supports this usually busy plaza that connects New Street itself, High Street and St Martin's Walk in the Bullring. Some of the suspending elements are half-concealed by fake store fronts. It was not the best of days for promoting 'Rockstar', centre, another energy drink. See also SP0786 : North end of West Mall, Bullring (Debenhams).
